A Letter from the Preschool Principal
Jeanette Hartung-Schroeder
Each class in the curriculum is designed to challenge students in some way, and teachers are readily available to assist students when problems and/or concerns arise. It is everyone’s mission at school to assist students in passing all courses, but ultimately students must also work hard and strive for success each and every day. A student’s commitment to doing their best is imperative for success in school and in each and every activity that they take part in throughout their lives. Students who develop good habits and a strong work ethic in school are much more likely to succeed outside of school, and therefore we challenge you to give your best effort each and every day in everything that you do.

Enrollment
Thank you for showing interest in Bellevue Community Schools' Little Stars Preschool program. Bellevue Schools' preschool is taught by two highly qualified instructors, Mrs. Samatha VanGorp and Ms. Alesha Ries. Both of these teachers have their elementary teaching degrees and early childhood special education degrees.
Currently we have two sections of three year-old classes and two sections of four year-old classes. The three year-old students attend Tuesdays and Thursdays in either mornings or afternoons. The four year-old students attend Mondays thru Fridays in either mornings or afternoons.
Voluntary Preschool Grant
In 2009, Bellevue Community Schools was the recipient of the Statewide Voluntary Preschool Program for Four Year-Old Children (SWVPP). Iowa’s SWVPP is an important part of the state’s comprehensive early childhood effort, providing more opportunities for young children to access quality preschool and enter school ready to learn.
Bellevue Community School District oversees Little Stars Preschool at Bellevue Community Schools and St. Joe’s Preschool at Marquette Catholic Schools. Quality preschools help children and communities.
